Osteopathy for Sportsmen and Women

December 20th 2021

In osteopathy for sportsmen and women we have a clear objective which is that our patient does not have any dysfunction at a structural, organic and biomechanical level so that they can carry out their sporting activity at maximum performance.

For this reason, it is of utmost importance that the patient understands the injury and its possible causes so that he/she can modify his/her usual practice and avoid chronification of the injury.

At Madrid Health, our osteopaths will adapt the treatment to the different demands and characteristics of each sport, knowing perfectly the sporting gesture to be able to correct it if our patient does not perform it correctly.

Sports osteopathy is focused on:

1) Preventing possible injuries related to sports practice, taking into account the characteristics of each sport and the frequency with which it is practised.

2) Treating injuries caused by the practice of sport or for reasons unrelated to it.

3) Improve the athlete’s performance.

4) To accompany and verify that the sporting gesture is being carried out correctly from a biomechanical point of view.
