Osteopathy in Epicondylalgia or Tennis Elbow

December 13th 2021

Tendinosis or degeneration of the tendons that are inserted in the epicondyle is caused by overload or overuse, where there is a disorganisation of the collagen caused by repetitive micro-traumas.

Epicondylalgia is not exclusive to athletes who play tennis, but to anyone who performs repetitive elbow and wrist movements.

At Madrid Health, our osteopaths will solve biomechanical problems at the elbow and wrist. Thanks to the resolution of mobility problems, our epicondylar tendons will be able to better support the workload.

The nerves and vascularisation of the elbow come from the cervical vertebrae, so we will manipulate the vertebral dysfunctions to restore the correct innervation and vascularisation in the epicondylar area.

We will also reverse the possible dysfunction in the head of the radius that will produce a radial nerve entrapment that will chronify the symptoms of this epicondylargia.

Finally, our physiotherapists will relax the shortened muscles and tone the weakened muscles to find a muscular balance.

Our multidisciplinary team has the best tools to finally put an end to your discomfort, so don’t leave it too late!

See you at Madrid Health.
